Overview

This guide explains how to quickly build a website using the various tools provided by cPanel & WHM.

Create a Website with Sitejet Builder

The Sitejet Builder interface allows you to view and manage your registered domains associated with Sitejet websites. This interface is fully integrated with the Sitejet Website Builder (Content Management System). You can use the Sitejet Website Builder (CMS) to design and create a website for your domain, then publish it using your cPanel account.

To create a website for your domain, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Sitejet Builder interface (cPanel » Home » Domains » Sitejet Builder). The Sitejet Builder interface will be displayed.
  2. Click Build with Sitejet for the desired domain. The Choose Template interface will appear.
  3. After selecting a template and customizing your website within the Sitejet Website Builder (CMS), click Publish Publish. The system will redirect you to the Sitejet Builder interface and publish your design to the domain’s document root directory.
    • If your domain’s document root already contains files, you will be prompted to confirm publication. Publishing will delete all files and directories in your domain’s document root directory.
    • If the publication process would cause your cPanel account to exceed its disk quota, you will be prompted to free up additional space before your Sitejet website can be published.

For more information, please refer to our Sitejet Builder interface documentation.

Create a WordPress Website

Note: The Onboarding Assistant automatically creates a WordPress® website for new cPanel accounts if the WordPress option is selected during setup.

The WP Toolkit interface enables you to quickly install and configure WordPress.

To create a website using WordPress®, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to cPanel’s WP Toolkit interface (cPanel » Home » Domains » WP Toolkit). The WP Toolkit interface will be displayed.
  2. Click Install WordPress. The Install WordPress sidebar will appear.
  3. Enter a title for your website.
  4. WP Toolkit will suggest a username, password, and email address for the administrator account. Adjust these as needed.
  5. Click Install.

This process installs a basic WordPress installation on your site. You can then add themes, plugins, and other enhancements either through the WP Toolkit interface or the WordPress Dashboard.

To access the WordPress Dashboard, click Log in.

Create a Placeholder Page with Site Publisher

To set up a placeholder page for your account, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to cPanel’s Site Publisher interface (cPanel » Home » Domains » Site Publisher).
  2. Select the Domain for which you wish to create a placeholder page.

Note: The domains listed in this interface include your account’s main domain and subdomains. Parked (or “alias”) domains are not included. For more information on parked domains, please refer to our glossary of terms.

  3. Select a site template.
  4. Enter your site’s information.
  5. Click Publish.

For further details, please consult our Site Publisher documentation.

Upload Your Own Content

If you have created website content using tools other than Sitejet Builder or WordPress, you can upload it directly to the server to establish your website. cPanel & WHM provide the following methods for uploading your content:

  • cPanel’s Web Disk interface (cPanel » Home » Files » Web Disk)
  • cPanel’s Git Version Control interface (cPanel » Home » Files » Git Version Control)
  • cPanel’s File Manager interface (cPanel » Home » Files » File Manager)
  • cPanel’s FTP Accounts interface (cPanel » Home » Files » FTP Accounts)
